I work as a designer for DASH Studio, located in Raleigh, NC
At DASH I've been responsible for a variety of tasks related primarily to concept art, storyboarding, and the illustration of animation assets.
Project Highlights include:
The opening introductory video to Hopscotch Design Fest 2017
Internal promotional materials
And a variety of content still in "tha works"
When I was a kid watching the bonus features on PIXAR films I got a rush from watching character designers explain their craft. Fast-forward many years later to this NutMeg and you'll find my sentiments have remained the same. This is what I do for fun, folks.
Sometimes you need a novel to tell a story---and other times all you need is an image.
These illustrations serve as concept work for a fantasy narrative I hope to later make into a graphic novel.
When you're young and you watch cartoons there might be a part of you that says, "hey, I can make these too!" And you go to your spiral notebook to draw characters who have their own crazy adventures. Well, maybe it was just me.
Fast-forward to my senior year of college and the aforementioned scenario becomes true once again. Only this time I have a few more sophisticated tools than markers and a spiral-bound notebook.
This collection of work is part of an Independent study in character creation and story generation. Here you'll find model sheets and tests. The links will take you to digital illustrations and environments that coincide with this world of 1970's fantasy.
As a part of my independent story I was responsible for storyboarding the first scene of a potential cartoon series of my own design.
In this scene a vampire is stalking his prey in a 70's disco tech in Jersey when suddenly things go wrong.
As a final project in an illustration studio the task was to create an origin story to tell in 8 pages. In this story the cat is depicted as an alien warrior being who came to earth in search of colonizing a work force.
A little bit of my fine art training. Pencil, charcoal and clay.
